The MLM industry sometimes gets a bad rap but I’m here to tell you that there are plenty of generous experts wanting to provide support. If you are going to make a profit in MLM and network marketing there are a few characteristics that you must possess and none of them have to do with talent or knowledge. FIrst of all marketing success is a mindset. Do not expect overnight success because that is not how this industry defines success no matter what all of those get rich quick offers that flood your inbox have to say. You have to make a conscious decision to succeed in network marketing and you have to be persistent and consistent preventing outside sources from derailing your energy. Over 95% or network marketers will not make a profit online, not because they don’t have the information to succeed but because they give up and make-up excuses. Like anything worthwhile in life there must be the struggle before you taste nectar.

Secondly, you need to have a plan of attack. Identify why you have a network marketing business and set short, medium, and long range goals. Write these down and keep them near you as a trigger to press forward and building yourself as a leader. Have a marketing plan. This is especially crucial if you are a new marketer. Develop your marketing skills with one strategy and stick to it until you generate leads consistently with that single strategy. There are plenty of ways to build your list of quality leads for free or very low costs. Facebook marketing, classifieds, article marketing, video marketing, and email marketing are just to name a few. A huge distraction for me at the beginning was wanting to market my opportunity with as many strategies as I could possibly try. This is an ineffective and time consuming strategy quickly leading to mental and budgetary burnout. Also, keep distractions to minmum. As you already know your inbox gets flooded daily with the next great opportunity for you to make money. Resist the tempatation to respond because your time is valuable and the more you try to take on the more frustrated you will become, also with no positive outcomes. If you are struggling to make money with one opportunity why would you try two, or three, or four.

Finally, I suggest that you seek out a mentor or a leader in the industry. Like I said earlier, there are plenty of experts who make six figure incomes every month who want nothing more than to assist you and help you grow your business. The network marketing industry continues to show tremendous growth and there’s great opportnity for you if you choose.
